Optimization Path for Elderly Care Service System in Northwestern China:A Case Study of Gansu Province
Establishing a sound elderly care service system and promoting its high-quality development are not only the inevitable requirements for improving the quality of life of the elderly,but also the key support for implemen-ting the national strategy of actively responding to population aging.Based on a brief overview of the construction of the elderly care service system in the northwest region,this study takes Gansu Province as an example to analyze the current situation of aging population in urban and rural areas,sort out the current situation of elderly care services in urban and rural areas;it is found that although Gansu Province has achieved some results in the practice of construc-ting the elderly care service system,there are still issues such as significant differences in elderly care services be-tween urban and rural areas,imbalance between supply and demand of elderly care services,insufficient talent sup-ply,and single fund-raising channels.This paper proposes an overall plan to optimize the construction of the elderly care service system in Gansu Province,and provides specific optimization paths,which mainly include promoting the improvement of the basic elderly care service system,strengthening the basic support role of public elderly care insti-tutions,continuously optimizing the supply of home-based elderly care services in communities,supporting the col-laborative participation of multiple subjects in elderly care services,actively promoting the construction of a multi-level sustainable pension insurance system,accelerating the construction of talent teams such as nursing assistants for elderly care,and better playing the demonstration and driving role of provincial capital cities.
