Influence of Industrial Agglomeration Patterns on Green Economy Efficiency in the Yellow River Basin
The key to ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin lies in pro-moting green development transformation centered on green economic efficiency improvement. As the main hubs of re-source elements and economic activities in the basin, city and its industrial agglomeration pattern have an important impact on the improvement of green economic efficiency.Based on a review of relevant literature, this paper analyzes the theoretical logic of the influence of industrial agglomeration mode on green economic efficiency. Then, through measuring the green economic efficiency of 81 prefectural-level cities in the Yellow River Basin from 2006 to 2020 by adopting the super-efficiency SBM model and the Malmquist-Luenberger index, this paper constructs a panel data, and analyzes the impact of different industrial agglomeration modes on green economic efficiency at the city level by u-sing a two-way fixed-effects model. At the same time,it also examines how this impact varies with city size by a panel threshold model. The final conclusions are as follows:theoretically, there exists a certain degree of uncertainty about the impact of industrial agglomeration modes on green economic efficiency, and it needs to be determined through empirical analyses according to the research scope;at the present stage, the specialized agglomeration of in-dustries in the Yellow River Basin exhibits the characteristic of inhibiting the improvement of green economic efficien-cy.In addition, diversified agglomeration exhibits the characteristic of promoting the improvement of green economic efficiency;the influence effect of diversified industrial agglomeration on green economic efficiency in the Yellow River Basin varies significantly among different regions in the basin. Moreover, the influence of different industrial agglom-eration modes on green economic efficiency in the basin is characterized by the change of the threshold based on three city size dimensions, that is,the scale of economic development, population size and geographical spatial scale.
