How Reconstruction Is Achieved:The Livelihood Spatial Practices of Ecological Migration-Based on Field Survey in S County,Gansu Province
From the perspective of spatial sociology,ecological migration can be regarded as a spatial replace-ment practice.Based on field observation and interviews,this paper examines the livelihood space of the relocated herdsmen in the core area for ecological protection of S County.It is found that spatial planning,spatial practice and reconstructive space are dominated and completed by different entities.The livelihood space reconstruction of immi-grants is a gradual process.Under the guidance of the government's spatial planning,the combination of mandatory and non-mandatory methods promote the replacement of herdsmen's livelihood space.However,it has also resulted in problems such as the loss of economic space and increase of livelihood costs,the incompatibility of human capital with the modern market environment,and the fragmentation of social space leading to the herdsmen's weak sense of belonging of.To address above issues,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions from the perspectives of returning to the original livelihood mode in a planned way,reconstructing the economic space,reshaping human capital,levera-ging the role of existing social space as a binder,and building an open and transparent institutional space.
