From November 2018 to June 2020,the Xi'an Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics Conservation and Archaeology and Shandong University formed a joint archaeological team to excavate the Han-Dynasty cemetery complex at the Shilipu village in the northern suburbs of Xi'an,in order to cooperate with the infrastructure construction.More than 500 tombs were identified and unearthed,yielding more than one thousand pieces of various types of artifacts.This preliminary report introduces nine urn burials,which are relatively well preserved with intact structure.These burials date from the Early Western Han Dynasty to the Late Eastern Han Dynasty.These new discoveries are important materials for studying the evolution of the funeral customs of infants and young children in the Han Dynasty.
