Through studying stratigraphy and typology,this article suggests that the archaeological remains from the Xiaonanshan site can be divided into two archeological cultures:Xiaonanshan culture and Xinkailiu culture.Also,the dates of these two main archaeological cultures are analyzed,respectively.Based on the case study of the Chahai site,this article also proposes a new chronological framework of the Xinglongwa culture and the development of jade ornaments,which can be used as a reference for investigating the date of related archaeological cultures.Based on this new chronological framework,the Tabuaobao site,the first period of the Hake site,and the third period of the Beishandong site postdate the Xiaonanshan culture but are contemporary to the Xinglongwa culture.This article also discusses the cultural connection between archaeological cultures in Northeast China during the Chahai era,and reveals the basic pattern of contemporary jade culture development in Northeast China.
