From 2021 to 2022,the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology conducted a salvage excavation at the Chilanqiao site in the Chang'an District in Xi'an,Shaanxi Province,in order to cooperate with the construction project of resettlement residential houses at Chilanqiao village.Significant amount of Shang culture remains were discovered at the site,including a modest quantity of manufacturing remains associated with bronze casting.The excavation of the Chilanqiao site enriches the collection of archaeological remains of the Shang period in the Guanzhong region and offers crucial data for the study of regional cultural history as well as for understanding the control and exploitation of important resources by the Shang dynasty in the region.
