During 2021~2022,the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology and several archaeological organisations excavated multiple localities inside the Von Cang Do site, including the two stupas in southwestern and northeastern corners and the tortoise-shaped stone foundation in the western part.In addition, the archaeological team also conducted surveys at areas surrounding Von Cang Lha Khang, which is situated in the central part of Chu Shur Country. Results of this fieldwork confirmed preliminarily the historical context of the site, which first served as a Tubo palace, then a Tubo royal temple, and finally an important religious center in Central Tibet.A large volume of glazed bricks and tile building materials, were found at the site, providing precious materials for studying the Tubo royal architectural structure and technique. In addition, this discovery laid down the foundation for an intensive study of the communication and connection between Tubo,Tang dynasty, and surrounding areas.
