In order to clarify the structure and construction of Xuewei tomb no.Ml,which was excavated in the 1980s,and promote the protection of cultural heritage and the development of tourism,the Reshui joint archaeology team conducted a re-excavation of the tomb from 2021 to 2022,focusing on the tomb structure,aboveground structure,and the fourth and fifth horse burial pits to the south of the tomb.The re-excavation shows that the tomb was built on the natural mountain platform.The grave mound was built above the platform.Below were multi-chambers,which are made of wood and stones.The aboveground structures are located to the northeast of the platform,consisting of three building foundations.To the south of the tomb are the fourth and fifth sacrificial pits,including 17 horses and 21 horses,respectively.Combined with the discoveries of horses from the three burial pits(no.1-3)published previously,at least 90 horses in total were sacrificed in these burial pits.
