Many bronze mirrors with handles have been found archaeologically in Tibet. In recent years, some transmitted items have also been reported. The discovery of these bronze mirrors reflects the multifaceted exchanges between Tibet and surrounding cultures during the development of early civilization in Tibet. In general, the Tibetan bronze mirrors with handles can be divided into the east and west series, which have their own characteristics with regard to the duration and distribution regions.Bronze mirrors with handles can be also found in the northern Eurasian steppe cultures and Bronze Age sites in South Asia and Central Asia.In addition, bronze mirrors with handles of different shapes and forms were also popular in Southwest and Northwest China, implying the historical background of the extensive flow and communication between different ethnic groups on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau through the"Plateau Silk Road".It is also a vivid example of the long-distance,cross-regional interaction between different regional archaeological cultures from the Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age.
