This article suggests that the mural painted coffin from the Bizili cemetery in Luopou County,Xinjiang,demonstrates a strong connection with Zoroastrian cultural characteristics,based on the contents of the murals and other associated burial goods.In juxtaposing with analysis of multiple aspects,including burial customs,historical texts,and genetic DNA studies,the author speculates that the owner of the tomb may have been an ancient Khotan who believed in Zoroastianism during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.The discovery of these materials has provided new material evidence for further research on funeral customs,religious beliefs,the eastward spread of the Sogdians,the cultural exchange and communication along the Silk Road between the East and the West from Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty.
