Clay seals are a primary category of unearthed textual records crucial for the study of Qin culture.This article presents several reflections on the current research trend.First,new research has to develop a granular chronology and establish robust dating criteria.Second,synthesizing multiple lines of evidence is necessary to enhance interpretative accuracy.Third,based on these interpretations,research has to further explore of various aspects,including the Qin political system and the reconstruction of the administrative geography and spatial organization.Further,research has to delve into the political management,social cultural activities,and ideology of the Qin culture.Future research must also emphasize focus on the exhibition and conservation of Qin clay seals.
