The selection of locations for imperial mausoleums during the Eastern Han Dynasty was influenced by a multitude of factors,including traditional customs,fengshui principles,political circumstance,and the personal preferences of reigning emperors.This article emphasizes the significance of considering the individual preferences of adult emperors,which were often shaped by their desire of establishing and consolidating political authority.Drawing upon a systematic analysis of relevant data,this article challenges the idea that there is insufficient evidence to support correlations between the Dahan mausoleum and Emperor Guangwu,the Erhan mausoleum and Emperor An,Zhucang tomb no.M722 and Emperor Shun,Zhucang tomb no.M707 and Emperor Chong,as well as the correlation between the Liujiajing mausoleum and Emperor Ling.
