The Keshengzhuang culture distributed throughout the central and southern regions of Shaanxi have always been characterized by its simple and single pottery combination and its village sized settlements.However,the discovery of jade artifacts at numerous sites suggests that within the plain cultural facade of the Ke Sheng Zhuang culture lies a complex connotation.As a relic with frequent exchanges among the upper-class society in the Neolithic Age,jade is an important aspect of studying the cultural nature of archaeology.This article takes the jades unearthed from the Kangjia site as the main object of analysis and combines jades unearthed from other sites to analyze the social structure of the Keshengzhuang culture from the level of etiquette represented by the jade.Additionally,the dynamic exchange relationship between Keshengzhuang culture and other contemporaneous cultures around it is discussed.
