Via identifying inscription over Jingjun Stone Case of the Tang Dynasty,this article discusses the purpose and politic significances of holding sarira.This Buddhist worship activity,triggered by solar eclipse in May 5th year of Tianbao,aimed to dispel disasters,shelter Emperor Xuanzong and populace,protect the country,and enhance imperial power.
