In 2007 through 2010,Department of the School of History,Wuhan University conducted excavations to the Maling Site. The remains of the Xiyin Culture include 3 houses,17 ash pits and a trench, along with artifacts made of pottery and stone. The remains all belong to the latest period of Xiyin Culture, between the third phase of Hougang Phase I Culture and the first phase of Zhujiatai Culture in Maling Site. The remains are similar to the Xiyin Culture in Guanzhong area and the upper reach of the Han River, while different from the middle reach of the Han River. The excavation of Maling Site provides valuable new clues for investigating the Xiyin Culture in the middle reach of the Han River.
