The Impact of Population Aging on Industrial Structure:An Empirical Study Based on Chongqing City
With the increasing aging degree of the population,the development of the economy and soci-ety,especially the industrial structure,will be profoundly affected.Based on the current situation of population aging and industrial structure in Chongqing City,the time series data from 1997 to 2022 were selected to analyze the action mechanism of the impact of population aging on industrial structure upgrading.This paper discussed the impact of the population aging on the industrial structure,and measured the contribution degree in the process of the industrial structure upgrading.The results show that the aging of the population is conducive to the evolution of the advanced industrial structure and has a long-term continuous pulling effect,especially if it has the most significant impact on the struc-ture of the tertiary industry.Therefore,Chongqing City should adapt to the current development trend of population aging,attach great importance to the impact of population aging on the adjustment of in-dustrial structure,and formulate countermeasures in line with its own reality.
