A Study on Gender Differences in the International Mobility of Scientific and Technological Talents
The participation of scientific and technological talents in international exchange and coopera-tion can significantly improve their research capabilities and influence.By paying attention to gender differences in the international flow of scientific and technological talents,it can further improve the cultivation of female scientific and technological talents and promote gender equity in scientific research.Based on the data of papers published in the Scopus database from 1920 to 2020,statistical methods were used to analyze gender differences in the international flow of scientific and technological talents at the global, national, and disciplinary levels. The results showed that international mobility based on cross-border institutional cooperation provided a better and more adaptable growth environment for mobile technology talents; There is no difference between female technology talents and male technolo-gy talents in the selection of mobility behavior patterns and the planning of mobility routes; There are indeed significant gender differences in the international flow of global technology talents, with a lower proportion of female technology talents moving internationally than male technology talents; The like-lihood of female technology talents going abroad for exchange is lower than that of male technology tal-ents in the later stages of their career.Based on research findings, policy recommendations are pro-posed to promote the gender mainstream process of science and technology policies, promote the con-struction of specialized committees for female science and technology talents, and develop intervention strategies for work family conflicts among female science and technology talents,in order to encourage female science and technology talents to play a greater role in the academic community.
