Research on the Impact of Digital Service Trade on the Embodied Carbon Intensity on Exports:Based on Panel Data of 64 Countries(Regions)
Digital service trade,as a new form of trade, has injected new momentum into the global eco-nomic recovery and growth with the advantages of digital technology empowerment.Based on panel da-ta from 64 countries(regions)from 2010 to 2021,this study uses two-way fixed effects model to ex-plore the impact of digital service trade on the implied carbon intensity of exports and the underlying transmission mechanism. The research results indicate that:① Digital service trade can significantly reduce the implied carbon intensity of exports.② Digital service trade can indirectly reduce the implied carbon intensity of exports by increasing income levels, optimizing trade structure, and promoting technological innovation.③The carbon reduction effect is more pronounced in high-income and high level of digital service trade development countries,as well as in service sectors such as ICT trade. The research findings provide a reference For countries around the world to formulate relevant digital serv-ice trade policies to achieve the"Dual Carbon"goals.
