Chain Shareholders and Firm ESG Performance:The Moderating Role of Digital Transformation
This paper focuses on the data of A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2022 to explore the relationship between chain shareholders and corporate ESG performance.It is found that chain share-holders significantly promote the ESG performance of enterprises,and digital transformation plays a positive moderating role in this process.The mechanism test shows that chain shareholders mainly pro-mote the realization of ESG goals by improving information transparency.Heterogeneity test shows that the promotion effect of chain shareholders on ESG performance is more obvious in enterprises with high industrial pollution and stable chain shareholders.This paper expands the research on the economic effect of chain shareholders and the influencing factors of ESG performance of enterprises,and provides a useful reference for realizing the sustainable development of enterprises,society and environment.
