Impact of Gender Structure of Scientific and Technological Talents on Regional Green Technology Innovation
Women's unique values coincide with the environmental protection and low-carbon concept of green technological innovation, and it is obviously worth exploring whether the change in the gender structure of scientific and technological talents brought about by their participation in innovation activi-ties can affect green technological innovation. In this paper,we select the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2020,and use the fixed-effects model to investigate the impact of the gender struc-ture of scientific and technological talents on green innovation. The results show that:(1)balancing the gender structure of scientific and technological talents and increasing the proportion of female scien-tific and technological talents significantly promotes green technological innovation;(2)balancing the gender structure of scientific and technological talents and increasing the proportion of female scientific and technological talents drives green technological innovation more likely to be demonstrated in the context of high digitisation level and modernised gender concepts;(3)the proportion of female scientif-ic and technological talents drives green utility model patent applications more significantly.Mean-while,the contribution of the female share of scientific and technological talents to green innovation output is significant in the eastern and western regions.
