Review of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research in China:Four Stages,Two Fields,Six Themes,and Three Questions
Currently,there is a vast number of academic research achievements in the field of innovation and en-trepreneurship in China,necessitating timely consolidation and reflection.A bibliometric analysis of 5008 articles from CSSCI source journals between 1998 and 2023 reveals that the relevant academic research has accompanied the process of reform in China's scientific and technological system as well as economic system,going through four stages:exploration and initiation,stable development,comprehensive prosperity,and rational return.The existing achievements display a"One Body,Two Wings,Six Dimensions"pattern,with innovation and entre-preneurship at the core,forming two major academic hubs of"technological innovation"and"entrepreneurs".It encompasses six key fields:the theory of innovation and entrepreneurship,the digital economy and innovation,rural innovation and entrepreneurship,innovation and entrepreneurship education,the national system for inno-vation and entrepreneurship,and the management of corporate innovation and entrepreneurship.In light of the three prominent issues existing in current research,it is suggested that future research should strengthen institu-tional cooperation,focus on basic theories and the laws of innovation in interdisciplinary fields,thereby provi-ding theoretical support for significant innovation and entrepreneurship;in terms of research methods,it is recommended to enhance in-depth exploration of big data and typical cases of localization;at the same time,it is suggested that research on innovation and entrepreneurship education should further integrate with prac-tice,helping to bridge the"last mile"from the concept of technological entrepreneurship to practice,allowing academic research to truly serve the acceleration of forming new quality productive forces.
