Prefecture-Level Digital Economy Empowering Common Prosperity:The Moderating Effects of Scientific and Technological Innovation and Human Capital
The digital economy is leading China’s economic and social development towards the pace of high-quality development,and has become a new opportunity for the realization of the goal of common wealth.Based on the panel data of 286 cities in China from 2011 to 2021,a two-way fixed-effects model is constructed to empirically test the empowering effect of the digital economy on common wealth,and further explore the moderating mechanism of scientific and technological innovation and the level of hu-man capital in the process of empowerment.The results of the study show that the development of dig-ital economy can significantly promote the realization of common wealth;the empowering effect of dig-ital economy is strongest in the eastern region,followed by the central and western regions;the em-powering effect has been further strengthened since the release of the"Broadband China"strategy;and there is a significant positive moderating effect of scientific and technological innovation and human cap-ital in the empowering process.
