The Impact of Population Factors on the World's Important Talent Centers and Innovation Highlands
Facing the challenge of negative population growth,studying the relationship between popula-tion characteristics and the world's important talent centers and innovation highlands is an important issue based on national strategy and in line with the development of the times.The study is based on provincial-level panel data in China from 2011 to 2022,and analyzes the relationship between China's population size and the world's important talent centers and innovation highlands from six perspec-tives:full sample,different regions,and different population age structures.Research has found that:population size has a significant promoting effect on the world's important talent centers and innovation highlands;The population with high education,labor force,and high consumption level can better en-hance the level of talent centers;For regions with high levels of economic development,public services,and a favorable environment for talent development,population size can better promote the develop-ment of talent centers.Finally,the study proposes policy recommendations from five aspects:strengthening fertility incentives,improving population quality,improving economic development and public service levels,optimizing talent development environment,and strengthening international ex-change and cooperation.
