A Content Validity Study of NETEM Ⅱ Reading Comprehension(2017-2023)
Based on testing syllabus and the framework of task characteristics,from the aspects of text input,expected responses and question design,this paper examined the content validity of 28 passages and 140 test items of Reading Comprehension Part A in the National Entrance Test of English for MA/MS(short for NETEM Ⅱ)from 2017 to 2023.The results showed that the length,difficulty of reading texts,reading skills coverage of NETEM Ⅱ from 2017 to 2023 generally accorded with the testing syllabus,and consequently the content validity was high.Meanwhile,narrative texts were not examined,genres and themes were not rich enough,and the coverage of the reading skills examination was not balanced.
