As an important link in national innovation driven development,universities play a very important role in patent creation and intellectual property innovation.In recent years,with the continuous adjustment of national patent policies,universities should not only focus on the quantity of patent output,but also improve their control over patent quality.Among them,as a science and engineering university with industry characteristics,the improvement of patent quality in petroleum universities has a significant impact on the development of the industry Therefore,this article presents the current status of patent development in petroleum universities through multi-dimensional analysis of the patent quality of three domestic petroleum universities,explores the existing problems and methods to improve patent quality.
