The proposal of the new liberal arts concept has brought new development and innovative opportunities for English teaching in applied undergraduate colleges.The article focuses on sorting out the reform direction of college English teaching and the reform ideas of college English classification teaching under the background of new liberal arts.It proposes feasible reform paths from two aspects:using multiple teaching methods and establishing a sound evaluation and assessment mechanism,in order to improve the English level and practical application ability of college students,and to cultivate high-quality professional international talents that meet the needs of the times for the country and society,better promote the transformation and sustainable development of universities.
