Peer education,as a new method and means of ideological and political education in universities,plays an extremely important role in enhancing the effectiveness of ideological and political education in universities.Based on the perspective of peer education,this article delves into the exemplary demonstration function,behavioral norms function,emotional resonance function,and information sharing function of integrating peer education into ideological and political education in universities,fully explaining the significance of integrating peer education into ideological and political education in universities.On this basis,the basic principles that should be followed in the application of peer education in ideological and political education in universities have been systematically sorted out,and specific practical paths for integrating peer education into ideological and political education have been proposed,effectively ensuring that the function of peer education can be fully utilized in ideological and political education,thereby better serving ideological and political education in universities.
