In the context of elementary school writing, common issues include spelling errors, inappropriate word usage, misuse of words, and lack of sentence components. This paper proposes the use of the"continuation"strategy to enhance the appropriate use of words in elementary school students'writing.Students,in the process of continuation, have the contextual framework established by the input text as well as the linguistic templates for imitation.By organically integrating creativity and imitation, students generate a synergistic effect between reading the preceding text and writing the continuation, resulting in more accurate and fluent use of words in their compositions.Teachers should leverage the synergistic effect brought by the continuation strategy, guiding students to integrate language imitation and usage within the context, and helping them accumulate words effectively.
