This study aims to explore the impact of social support on self-esteem and depression among vocational college students,as well as the effects of social support interventions on improving self-esteem and alleviating depression.This study used a questionnaire method to survey 400 students from a certain vocational college.The Social Support Rating Scale,Self Esteem Scale,and Self Rating Depression Scale were used for measurement,and SPSS 22.0 software was used for data analysis.The results show that:① the social support level and self-esteem level of vocational college students are lower than the national average level of college students,and the depression level is higher than the national average level of college students;② The social support of vocational college students is significantly positively correlated with self-esteem,and significantly negatively correlated with depression;③ There are gender differences in the impact of social support on self-esteem and depression,with girls being more affected by social support;④ The impact of social support on self-esteem is partially mediated by depression;⑤ Implementing social support interventions can effectively improve the self-esteem level of vocational college students and alleviate their depressive symptoms.
