西安交通大学机械学院为了探索如何更好地应对新形势下的国际化高等教育挑战，在全英文"机械表面工程概论"课程中提出了一种全新概念的教学模式—ISG(Integrated Small Groups)。该模式深入融合国际及中国学生，强调跨文化合作与交流，以促进不同背景学生的学术合作和文化理解。ISG教学模式通过外籍学生与中国学生结组，以工程问题为导引，理论讲授和科研实践相结合的形式开展。教学中采用全英文授课，帮助学生克服文化及语言习惯差异，同时采用多样化的教学方法，帮助学生适应课程学习节奏。课程的ISG教学模式对于应对国际化高等教育挑战有着重要意义。
Design and Practice of Teaching Mode for the Course of"Introduction to Mechanical Surface Engineering"in English
In order to explore how to better respond to the challenges of international higher education in the new situation,the School of Mechanical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University has proposed a new teaching model called ISG(Integrated Small Groups)in the English course"Introduction to Mechanical Surface Engineering".This model deeply integrates international and Chinese students,emphasizing cross-cultural cooperation and exchange to promote academic cooperation and cultural understanding among students from different backgrounds.The ISG teaching model is carried out through the combination of foreign and Chinese students forming groups,guided by engineering problems,and combining theoretical teaching with scientific research practice.Throughout the teaching process,all English teaching materials and materials are used to help students overcome cultural and language differences.At the same time,diverse teaching methods are adopted to help students adapt to the pace of course learning.The ISG teaching model in this course is of great significance for how to face the challenges of international higher education.
