Introduction to Petrochemical Processes is a public elective course offered by the School of Chemical Engineering. It gives an overview of the production processes for"triene,""triphenyl,"and the three main synthetic materials,as well as the composition, properties, and uses of petroleum and petroleum and petrochemical products. It also introduces th e fundamental principles, procedure, and typical equipment used in petroleum processing. This article takes the topic of electric desalination in the crude oil distillation chapter as an example, and adopts a goal oriented teaching model for teaching design. The focus is on explaining the course content, classroom format, and teaching effectiveness of this chapter. The reform of the goal problem oriented teaching mode for the Introduction to Petrochemical Processes has enriched the course content and classroom form, and exercised students'learning autonomy, logical thinking ability, and practical engineering ability.
