In the new era,international cultural exchanges have become closer,and in order to occupy a more advantageous position internationally,more talents with international capabilities are needed as support. In order to meet the demand for talent cultivation,it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation of students' cross-cultural communication skills in English classroom teaching. The article elaborates on the connotation of intercultural communication,analyzes the significance of cultivating intercultural communication skills,and proposes strategies for cultivating intercultural communication skills in college English teaching in the new era,including cultivating students' intercultural communication awareness,integrating language and cultural knowledge into teaching content,utilizing modem information technology to expand students' cultural knowledge sources,and incorporating intercultural knowledge into college English course assessments. The aim is to provide useful references for educators to carry out teaching activities.
