Objective:To explore the application effect of experiential teaching combined with scenario simulation teaching in elderly care experimental courses.Method:198 students majoring in nursing at a certain medical university were selected as the research subjects.Experiential teaching was conducted through a combination of elderly simulation devices and scenario simulation.The empathy ability was scored before and after the teaching using a self-comparison method.Subsequently,the comprehensive quality evaluation of the experimental course teaching effect was conducted.Result:The total score of empathy ability for students in the teaching mode of experiential teaching combined with scenario simulation(102.72±11.36)increased compared to before teaching(99.90±10.96)(P<0.05);The comprehensive evaluation of teaching quality shows that students are quite satisfied with this teaching method.Conclusion:The application of experiential teaching combined with scenario simulation in the experimental course of geriatric nursing can effectively improve the empathy ability of nursing students.
