Investigation and Analysis on the Current Situation of Scientific Research Motivation of Undergraduates in the Medical School
Objective:To investigate the current status of research motivation among undergraduate students majoring in medicine at a certain medical university and analyze its influencing factors.Method:A self-made questionnaire was used to conduct a survey of 1988 undergraduate medical students from a certain medical university, and descriptive statistical analysis was conducted on the survey results.Result:Only 16.3%of medical undergraduate students participated in scientific research activities. There are differences in research motivation levels among medical undergraduate students of different grades, majors, and intentions to take the postgraduate entrance examination. The research motivation of undergraduate students in the lower grade group is significantly higher than that of the higher grade group. The self-efficacy,research perspective, and curiosity level of medical undergraduate students are all above average.Further analysis revealed that self-efficacy,views on research, and curiosity are the influencing factors of research motivation among undergraduate students at the university. Conclusion:The research motivation of medical undergraduate students is relatively limited.Medical colleges can improve the research literacy of medical undergraduate students by creating research conditions and encouraging them to participate in research activities.
