The Impact of the Scientific and Technological Talents Agglomeration on High-quality Economic Development in China
As the economy enters the stage of high-quality development,the structure and scale of economic growth will change,and the influence mechanism of the gathering of scientific and technological talents on high-quality economic development will also change accordingly.Starting from the five dimensions of innovation,coordination,green,openness and sharing,based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2000 to 2020,this paper uses a double-fixed-effect spatial Dobbin model to investigate whether the concentration of scientific and technological talents has a nonlinear impact,and discusses its spatial spillover effect on high-quality economic development.The result indicates that the concentration of scientific and technological talents promotes high-quality economic development in the early stage,but promotion effects of scientific and technological talents on high-quality economic development is weakened as this concentration improves and the talents crowding effect enhances.Meanwhile,the agglomeration of scientific and technological talents has a positive spatial spillover effect on the high-quality economic development,and this spillover effect is obviously greater than the local direct effect.Besides,industrialization and human capital have a significant positive effect on the high-quality economic development of local and neighboring regions,while the direct effect of government intervention has not shown a significant relationship.Therefore,all regions need to always adhere to local industrial development and lead industrial development with scientific and technological talents,continue to improve regional public services and stimulate the innovation vitality of scientific and technological personnel,furthermore strengthen the cross-regional exchanges and cooperation of scientific and technological talents between regions,reduce the barriers to the flow of scientific and technological talents,and get the promotion and spatial spillover effect of scientific and technological talents gathering to play a bigger role in high-quality economic development.
