Analysis of Regional Differences and Industrial Characteristics of Urban Innovation Efficiency in China
Based on the innovation data of 297 cities at or above the prefecture level from 2018 to 2020,using the input-output ratio and the DEA-Malmquist index model, from the perspective of the innovation chain, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the regional differences and types of patent innovation efficiency and industrial innovation efficiency in Chinese cities,as well as the industrial characteristics of various types of innovation efficiency cities. The study found that the patent innovation efficiency of Chinese cities is on the rise, and the industrial innovation efficiency is on the negative growth trend.Regional differences continue to expand, and spatial imbalance is obvious.Cities with high patent efficiency and high industrial efficiency and cities with low patent efficiency and high industrial efficiency are mainly concentrated in the eastern and central regions, and their listed high-tech enterprises are mainly in strategic emerging industries.Cities with high patent efficiency and low industrial efficiency and cities with low patent efficiency and low industrial efficiency are mainly distributed in the western region, and the vast majority of these cities do not have listed high-tech enterprises. For cities with different innovation efficiencies,it is necessary to adopt differentiated innovation strategies to further strengthen the deep integration of innovation chains and industrial chains. While improving the patent innovation level of various cities, more attention must be paid to the transfer and transformation of patent results and the improvement of industrial innovation efficiency..
