Mechanisms of Knowledge Search Influencing Entrepreneurial Opportunity Identification in Start-ups:Based on the Mediating Role of Firms'Digital Capabilities
Based on the knowledge-based view and dynamic capability theory,this study constructs a theoretical model of knowledge search,enterprise digital capabilities and entrepreneurial opportunity identification.Reliability tests,common method bias tests,descriptive statistics,correlation analyses and hypothesis are test on data from a sample of 251 founders of startups.The results show that both the breadth and depth of knowledge search positively affect the identification of entrepreneurial opportunities.Enterprise digital capabilities promote the identification of entrepreneurial opportunities.Digital perception capabilities,digital collaboration capabilities,and digital operation capabilities play a partial intermediary role in the relationship between knowledge search and promotion of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition respectively.Among them,digital collaboration capabilities have the strongest intermediary role.Start-ups should adopt knowledge search strategies to identify entrepreneurial opportunities,and emphasise the cultivation of their digital capabilities and their role in facilitating the link between knowledge search and entrepreneurial opportunity identification.
