Comparative Study on the Competitive Situation of Brain-Computer Interface Based on Bibliometrics and Patent Analysis
In order to explore the competitive situation of brain-computer interface(BCI)between China and the United States,as well as the existing problems of BCI in China, this paper compares and analyzes the technological competition in the field of BCI between the two countries based on bibliometrics and patent analysis. The analysis results indicate that research and development funding institutions in the field of BCI in the United States were more diverse and focused on application-oriented basic research. In China, funding institutions were relatively single, and the main recipients of funding mainly carried out pure basic research. In terms of patent development,China and the United States respectively focused on different fields of research on the application of BCI.Universities were the main innovative entities conducting research on the application of BCI in China, while the United States mainly included enterprises and universities.China's application for invention patents was mainly in domestic, while the United States placed great emphasis on the layout of patents on a global scale.Enhancing the overall competitiveness of China's BCI technology,it is necessary to focus on highlighting the application orientation of basic research, strengthening the role of enterprise innovation entities, and expanding global patent layout.
