The Impact of Ambidextrous Learning and Organizational Resilience on Firms'Technological Innovation
Technological innovation is an important way to break through the key neck technology.However,there is little research on the impact of ambidextrous learning and organizational resilience on technological innovation in current.To clarify the mechanism of ambidextrous learning on technological innovation in manufacturing firms,and expand the research on organizational resilience and technological innovation,this paper applies organizational learning theory and dynamic capabilities theory,divides ambidextrous learning into exploitative learning and exploratory learning,and classifies organizational resilience into prospective resilience and improvisational resilience,and then establishes a theoretical model,explores the influence of two types of ambidextrous learning on manufacturing firms'technological innovation,and examines the mediating role of organizational resilience and the moderating role of big data analysis capability.Taking Chinese manufacturing firms as the research object,three methods are used to collect relevant data:one is distributing questionnaires offline to master of business administration(MBA)and master of engineering management(MEM)students from manufacturing firms,the other is distributing questionnaires online to relevant personnel in manufacturing firms through social networks,and the third way is conducting on-site surveys on some manufacturing firms.Empirical testing is conducted by using regression analysis and mediating effect testing.The results find that exploitative learning and exploratory learning not only have significant positive effects on technological innovation,but also have significant positive effects on prospective resilience and improvisation resilience,while the prospective resilience and improvisational resilience have significant positive effects on technological innovation,and play a partial mediating role between exploitative learning,exploratory learning,and technological innovation respectively.Moreover,big data analytics capability positively moderates the relationship between exploitative learning,exploratory learning,and technological innovation.Accordingly,managerial implications for firms are also drawn,which are strengthening ambidextrous learning,enhancing organizational resilience,and promoting big data analysis capabilities.
