The Inner Mechanism and Implementation Path of Digital Technology Empowering the Coordinated Development of Urban and Rural Industries
The development and popularization of digital technology promote the two-way flow of production factors in China's urban and rural areas,and then promote the coordinated development of urban and rural industries.However,there is insufficient empirical research on the influence of digital technology on the coordinated development of urban and rural industries.Therefore,with the help of provincial panel data,this paper tries to deeply explore the overall impact and regional heterogeneity and the action mechanism of digital technology on the coordinated development of urban and rural industries in China,aims to further deepen the research on this theme,and provide theoretical reference for using digital technology to promote the integration and upgrading of urban and rural industries and realize the coordinated development of urban and rural areas.Taking digital technology as the breakthrough point,it theoretically analyzes the internal mechanism of digital technology affecting the coordinated development of urban and rural industries.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021,it establishes a comprehensive evaluation index system for digitalization,uses the entropy method to measure the digitalization level of each province,uses the coupling coordination model to calculate the coordination degree of urban and rural industries in each province,and makes an empirical analysis on how digital technology affects the coordinated development of urban and rural industries.The empirical results show that digital technology has a significant positive impact on promoting the coordinated development of urban and rural industries;digital technology has heterogeneous impacts on the coordinated development of urban and rural industries in different spatial and geographical locations;county economy plays a partial mediating effect in the process of digital technology promoting the coordinated development of urban and rural industries.Besides,the threshold model shows that under different levels of economic development,the impact of digital technology on the coordinated development of urban and rural industries presents nonlinear characteristics.When the regional economic development level reaches a certain level,digital technology can have a significantly positive promoting effect on the coordinated development of urban and rural industries,and the threshold value is 10.379.Based on this,specific countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from three aspects:improving the rural digital infrastructure construction,improving the overall planning,and improving the digital literacy cultivation system.
