Based on paradox leadership theory and team innovation theory,it constructs a moderated mediation model through an empirical study of 48 interdisciplinary teams in a C9 university of China to examine the mechanism by which paradoxical leadership affects innovation in interdisciplinary teams in universities. The results show that:paradoxical leadership positively affects team innovation by coordinating the paradoxical needs among different members;the team capability reconstruction promoted by this plays a mediating role between the two;and the social identity of team members weakens this intermediary role.On the basis of empirical research, this paper further puts forward management suggestions for promoting interdisciplinary team innovation in universities under the Chinese context, providing a new perspective for interdisciplinary team management in universities.
