Impact Mechanism of Market Competition Structure on the Willingness of Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation
The willingness of industry-university-research collaborative innovation is the premise and basis for carrying out innovation collaboration and improving innovation efficiency.Among them,the fundamental driving force for enterprises to participate in collaborative innovation lies in the acquisition of economic benefits.However,there is little research on the impact of market competition structure on collaborative innovation willingness,especially the superposition effect of different factors under different structures.Accordingly,this paper uses the market revenue of collaborative innovation as the dependent variable(surrogate variable for willingness),and the market competition structure(monopoly/competition),initial market demand,market growth potential,enterprises'technological absorption capacity,and R&D investment as independent variables,constructs a mathematical optimization model to carry out analysis.Results show that the impact of market growth potential,enterprises'technological absorption capacity,and R&D investment on collaborative willingness are influenced by the overlay of market demand,these effects are opposite under different structures of competition and monopoly.That is,under the competitive structure,the R&D investment is inversely related to the willingness to collaborative innovation,while under the monopoly structure,the influence relationship between these two presents different effects with varied initial market demand conditions.Besides,the collaborative willingness of enterprises under different market structures is distinctive,and it is affected by the regulatory effects of their technological absorption capacities.On these grounds,to achieve a balance of interests,research institutions need to comprehensively consider factors such as the company's market competitive position and the market prospects of collaborative innovation technologies when choosing partners.
