Research on the Spatiotemporal Evolution,Driving Factors, and Motivation Upgrade of Regional Innovation Capabilities:Taking Guizhou Counties as an Example
Innovation is the first driving force to lead development. In particular, the promotion of county-based innovation capacity building is an important driving force for social development. However, the reality is that the development of innovation capacity is unbalanced and insufficient in various regions, and usually, the innovation capacity construction of western counties lags behind that of the east and central regions, and the progress of innovation capacity in western counties plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy in the whole country. As a typical representative of the western underdeveloped counties,Guizhou County is characterised by poor quality of urbanisation, backward economic level and typical mountainous areas, which are highly localised. The trend of spatial and temporal evolution of innovation capacity in Guizhou counties, the factors driving innovation capacity and how to enhance the driving force are unknown for the time being. To this end,88 counties in Guizhou during the period 2011-2021 are taken as research objects, and the entropy value method and hierarchical analysis method(AHP)are used to construct a comprehensive index system for measuring innovation capacity, and the methods of economics and geography are applied to study the spatial and temporal evolution trend of Guizhou counties'innovation capacity, the factors that drive the innovation capacity, and how to enhance the driving force. The results show that, firstly,Guizhou's innovation capacity shows an upward trend and spatial correlation from 2011 to 2021.Second,factors such as economic development, financial development, and technology level can significantly drive the innovation capacity of Guizhou counties.Third, there are spatial and temporal differences in the development and progress of the drivers of Guizhou's county innovation capacity, the four-quadrant classification shows that the number of counties in the"high-high"quadrant is the highest.
