A Comparative Analysis of the Differences in Scale and Patterns of Scientific Collaborations in Retracted Papers
Under the background of actively promoting the construction of scientific research integrity, analysing the characteristics of scientific research cooperation of retracted papers is an important perspective to establish a benign cooperation mode and scientific research order. We used 5884 retracted papers of four fields in the retraction watch database(RWD),namely, social sciences, humanities and arts, applied sciences, and natural sciences,to analyze the differences in the scale and mode of cooperation among retracted papers in different fields, and to study the main problems existing in the scientific research cooperation in the cancellation paper. The results show that the cooperation scale of the retracted papers has the highest frequency of 3 to 5 people,of which international cooperation accounts for about 20%annually,and the proportion of international cooperation in cooperative papers in most countries is negatively correlated with their paper cancellation rate, and the number of cross-border cooperation papers in the form of North-South cooperation is the largest. This shows that there is a significant correlation between the mode of cooperation, the scale of cooperation and the phenomenon of paper withdrawal, and shows that under the framework of scientific research cooperation, more extensive cooperation and communication and the establishment of mutual supervision mechanism have a positive effect on effectively reducing the incidence of scientific research misconduct.
