Process Digitization Empowering Value Creation in Manufacturing Enterprises:A Single Case Study from the Perspective of Dynamic Capabilities
With the accelerating progress of the fourth industrial revolution,represented by big data,artificial intelligence,cloud computing and other technologies,the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises has become imperative.As a crucial aspect of this transformation,process digitization plays a significant role in value creation for manufacturing enterprises.Based on the theory of dynamic capabilities,this study selects Shaanxi FAST auto drive group Co.,Ltd.(FAST)as a single-case research object to explore the internal mechanism through which enterprises promote value creation through process digitization,focusing on the core role of data element circulation in this process.The research findings are as follows:(1)FAST has achieved process digitization through four closed loops,namely,process,production,logistics,and quality,which further facilitates the realization of value creation.(2)Process digitization serves as an effective entry point for manufacturing enterprises to achieve digital transformation,therefor,enterprises should transform digital thinking into practical digital processes.(3)The data closed loop is a critical factor in the success of process digitization,breaking down data barriers between departments and effectively promoting the enhancement of enterprises'dynamic capabilities to gain more competitive advantages.Based on the research findings,this paper proposes the following suggestions:in the process of promoting digital transformation,manufacturing enterprises should implement transformation strategies from a top-down perspective,starting from the top-level design,and particularly emphasize the crucial role of process digitization as an important entry point for digital transformation.At the same time,enterprises need to actively build a complete data closed-loop system to achieve comprehensive data integration and efficient utilization.Additionally,in the digital era,manufacturing enterprises should attach great importance to building their own dynamic capabilities to adapt to rapidly changing market environments and continuously enhance their core competitiveness.
