The Impact of Digitalization and Servitization on Technological Innovation Capability:Empirical Data from Manufacturing Enterprises
Under the service-dominated logic, digitalization and servitization have a disruptive impact on the enhancement of the technological innovation capability of the manufacturing, but the internal mechanism of the impact is still unclear. In order to solve this puzzle, using the resource view and dynamic capability theory,an empirical analysis is conducted through 326 service-oriented manufacturing firms that have implemented digitization to dissect the internal influence mechanism between digitization, servitization, and technological innovation capability based on the consideration of policy uncertainty. The results show that both digitalization and servitization are positively correlated with technological innovation capability, while digitalization-servitization interaction is negatively correlated with technological innovation capability, and policy uncertainty negatively moderates the positive correlation between digitalization, servitization, and technological innovation capability. The research conclusions provide new explanations for the complex relationship between digitalization, servitization, and technological innovation capability, opens the black box and refining the boundary conditions of the internal interaction mechanism of digitalization, servitization and technological innovation capability,so as to provide reference for manufacturing enterprises to enhance their technological innovation capability.
