Study on Energy Dissipation Ratio of Viscoelastic Damper
Viscoelastic damper is a typical passive control device. It can reduce the seismic or wind-induced response of the structure through the shear hysteretic energy dissipation of viscoelastic materials. In this paper, the energy dissipation ratio of the damper to the total input energy of the earthquake(energy dissipation ratio)is used to evaluate the damping efficiency of the viscoelastic damper.Compared with the evaluation index of horizontal displacement ratio,it can more intuitively reflect the energy dissipation capacity of the damper. In this paper, the Kelvin model is used to derive the calculation formula of the energy dissipation ratio of the additional viscoelastic damper in the elastic and elastoplastic states of the structure. The calculation results of the example show that the derived calculation formula has good accuracy and accuracy, which can be used for engineering design.
