District Metered Areas(DMAs)are an important means to achieve pressure management and leakage control in urban water distribution network(WDN).The existing DMA partitioning algorithm cannot guarantee the pressure equalization within the partitioning. To solve this problem, this study proposes an iterative solution-based DMA partitioning method to achieve pressure equalization within the partition while ensuring the partition uniformity. The method proposes a node-similarity matrix for fusing nodal pressure distribution and establishes a partition rationali-ty evaluation index for determining the DMA partitioning scheme;an improved multi-objective genetic algorithm is used in the isolation stage to carry out the optimal arrangement of isolation valves and flow meters for the boundary pipe sec-tion;Finally,the pressure equalization of the final partitioning scheme is ensured by cyclic iteration of the above two processes. The effectiveness and feasibility of the improved method are verified through the study on the zoning of the case pipe network.
