Experimental Study on Liquefaction Resistance of Unsaturated Silty Soil in a Region
Previous studies have shown that liquefaction mainly occurs in saturated sandy soils, but liquefaction has also occurred in unsaturated silty soils. This paper uses《the standard penetration method in the Code for seismic de-sign of buildings》(GB 50011-2010)to distinguish the liquefaction of unsaturated silt soil in Leling and analyzes the unsaturated silt soil in Leling by using the cyclic resistance ratio(CRR)proposed by Andrus. The results showed that nearly 70%of the 16 test sites were judged as liquefaction sites. For unsaturated silty soil with buried depth less than 7 m,the pore ratio is an important factor affecting liquefaction, and the pore ratio has a good correlation with the liquefaction resistance. In the depth range of 7 m,the shallow unsaturated silty soil has better liquefaction resistance. When the burial depth exceeds a certain depth(7-9 m),the effect of pore ratio on anti-liquefaction ability is small, but the effect of burial depth is more significant. The unsaturated silty soil with greater depth has stronger anti-liquefac-tion ability. This study provides some reference value for judging the liquefaction of unsaturated silty soil and its influ-encing factors in engineering.
