Research Progress on Porous Materials for Atmospheric Water Harvesting
Water resources are the basis of human life and all production activities,however the lack of fresh water resources is a worldwide global problem.Non-traditional water supply technology,such as atmospheric water harvesting,can effectively alleviate the lack of water resources.In this paper,the research progress of adsorption porous materials was systematically reviewed,and the atmospheric water harvesting technology was briefly introduced.Meanwhile,the porous materials for atmospheric water harvesting,including silica gel,activated carbon,zeolite molecular sieves,metal organic framework,water absorption resin were analyzed.The characteristics of the modified composite adsorption materials and the principle of selecting the material were discussed.Adsorption materials with high water adsorption,low water energy consumption,high adsorption-desorption rate,and well circulation durability could be synthesized by choosing and modifying appropriate materials.Then,disadvantage of the atmospheric water harvesting technology could be improved,enhancing the ability for atmospheric water harvesting and utilizing the water resource more efficiently.The review here could be the reference for the development of the research on atmospheric water harvesting technology.
